Weekly News Roundup: Week 28

Time stops for no man…

Which is why each new week brings all new information on the latest and greatest in the gaming world!

Super Meat Boy creator Ed McMillen is creating a new game in the same hardcore-platforming genre.

This game puts you as Ash, some type of being who’s among the last of the survivors of some sort of apocalypse that put the world in a dark tumor-ridden state.

In the fashion of Meat Boy, you must run, jump, and slide your way through multiple challenging levels, except this time you collect tumors along the way, all so that you can make a friend out of them at the end of the game.

Yeah, it doesn’t make a lot of sense to me either, but if you look at the gameplay footage, you can tell it’s going to be a lot of fun! Or you’ll just smash your head into a wall because you can’t make it past most of the levels on the 1000th try.

The Just Cause series is myriad of chaos and Michael Bay-like explosions detonating across a vast landscape. There’s no doubt that Just Cause 3 continues the legacy and adds even more to the fun.

But the best part is always downloading the fan-made mod that will allow you to blow up and destroy the government of a small nation with your friends right along side you. That’s why pretty soon the Just Cause 3 multiplayer mod will finally be available for the public the enjoy!

The earlier versions have been available for a little while, but this month we’ll finally see the full-featured mod released on Steam. As of now, the mod’s still in development, and the space-time continuum is being broken as everyone is looking fabulous as the rogue beauty Rico Rodriguez.

The mod will be released on July 20.

Long Live Medici!

The search for intel has finally come to an end!

A while back, some mods of the NMS Reddit received a package from Hello Games containing a cassette tape which held the first step in a long line of brain crushing leads to eventually discover a website for Atlas Foundation’s Citizen Science Division and a ‘classified’ document vaguely describing how awesome this new update will be.

You can give your email to the website and it signs you up for future updates, and send you a survey which you can complete in order for a chance to receive a level 4 Atlas pass in-game, an advanced version of the item that allows players to access certain hidden areas in-game.

The classified document says the update will be coming sometime in August, so keep your eyes peeled for more information!

EA and DICE’s Battlefront 2 will be released on November 17, but earlier this week EA announced that there will be a Multiplayer beta running in early October.

Specific start times haven’t been revealed yet, but the beta is said to going to run through October 9th and start a few days before for anyone who has preordered the game.

Two modes will be available for play, one being a classic showdown between the Republic’s Clone Troopers and the Separatist’s Battle Droids on Naboo in Galactic Assault, and the other being a deep-space dogfight in the all-new Starfighter Assault mode. EA has said that more information regarding the beta will be released sometime in August.

Preordering the game will get you a couple days of early access and some cool in-game items like a Lightsaber Mastery Star Card for Yoda, and outfits for Kylo Ren and Rey, stripped right from The Last Jedi coming out later this year.
