Leak Confirms Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Square Enix started a promotional broadcast yesterday via Twitch, hoping to use the broadcast as a tool to build hype among the game development company’s massive fanbase. However, the company had not anticipated the leak that shortly followed the broadcast’s first day of airing. A cached Russian website by the name of Konabu released information that speculated Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was the game that Square Enix intended to reveal. This was not terribly surprising, considering the AAA game developer had trademarked the name in 2014. However, details had not surfaced until the recent leak. Kanobu further stated that the game would be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows PC, making it less widely available than its predecessor, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, which was available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Mac OS. This may be bad news for Nintendo and Mac users.

If you have any concerns regarding Konabu’s credibility, there is no need. GameInformer followed the leak with confirmation and the well-known gaming magazine has been the first to be provided with details from Square Enix.

game expectations

According to the leak, we can expect to see more of Adam Jensen, the lead character from Deus Ex: Human Revolution. GameInformer revealed that the year that the game will take place is 2029, two years after the year 2027, which was the setting for the game’s predecessor. GameInformer also specified that Jensen will work with a team with Interpol hunting augmented terrorists.

Judging from alleged screenshots of the game, we can also expect a combination of both first and third person, however most of it appears to be in first person. Third person perspective will come into effect primarily for cover, though we cannot confirm that this will be the only use of third person until more information is released.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is likely to impress players with new technology for both weapons and outfitting. We can also expect detailed weapon customization, which will give the player a plethora of weaponry options that will allow them to build a weapon that best suits their playing style.
